A well researched problem is the shortest path to a lasting solution. Lasting solutions are not born out of pure egotism or blind intuition. They’re assigned using a process that places the practitioner in the role of the “end user.” Imagine how, when answered, this problem can help others. Port of Folio is a collection work I’ve created for freelance clients, as design experiments, or for personal projects. My name is Chris Hunter. My graphic design career started back in the twentieth century. I used cave paint and stick sculptures to communicate my messages. Then I discovered print design. (Thanks Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg!) It's a great medium for honing the fundaments of design… composition, color and craftsmanship. Today I mainly work in the digital realm, carving out user-interface spaces.
The purpose of this website is two-fold. Fold one starts with web design in general. I've gotten lost and admittedly bored with source code and the technical mine field that only true programming geniuses can professionally navigate. So I'll continue to hand off my layered Photoshop files to those who can perform magic. Today, however, I've built my very own crude site using a new beta program, codename Muse. So "fold one" is a bit of an experiment in software. Fold two is using this site as a digital outlet for some of my more printable creations.
Featured here are a few things I've created for Oregon State University, Wedge Brewing Company, Asheville's Beer City Festival and a smattering of other random, colorful, high impact, illustrative congogulations. Apologies, writing should also be left to the professionals so I'll hang it up now and rewrite this sometime in the very distant future. – Chris
